<p>Description</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>NHL Street is looking for energetic, positive, and hockey-loving coaches to lead youth floor hockey teams in a fun, fast-paced, and inclusive environment. As a Youth Floor Hockey Coach, you'll help kids learn the fundamentals of the game, build confidence, and experience the excitement of NHL-style play - all while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the sport.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Create a safe, encouraging, and high-energy team environment. </li><li>Teach age-appropriate floor hockey skills, drills, and basic gameplay strategies. </li><li>Support teamwork, fair play, and character development on and off the court. </li><li>Ensure equal playing time and opportunities for all participants. </li><li>Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding schedules, updates, and expectations. </li><li>Model respectful behavior toward referees, opponents, teammates, and families. </li><li>Work alongside league staff and fellow coaches to uphold NHL Street rules, culture, and values. </li><li>Interact regularly with players, families, and the community as a visible ambassador of NHL Street. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>What You Bring</p> <p>Required Skills & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of floor hockey rules, techniques, and safety standards. </li><li>Enthusiasm for working with children in a positive, team-based setting. </li><li>Strong communication and relationship-building skills. </li><li>Ability to run drills, officiate scrimmages, and stay actively involved throughout practices and games. </li><li>Must be at least 18 years old. </li></ul> <p>Physical Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Comfortable running, throwing, catching, and engaging fully in youth sports activities. </li><li>Able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, or squat for extended periods. </li><li>Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 20 lbs. </li></ul> <p>NHL Street Team Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Follow all program policies and guidelines. </li><li>Maintain a positive, team-first attitude. </li><li>Support league cleanliness, organization, and special events when needed. </li><li>Communicate promptly and professionally with families and staff. </li><li>Provide five-star service to all participants and guests - always friendly, upbeat, and welcoming. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Statement</p> <p>NHL Street is proud to be an equal opportunity organization.
