<p>Crafco has an opening for an Equipment Fleet Service Mechanic at our facility in Nassau, NY.</p> <p>The Service Technician is responsible for conducting routine & preventative maintenance for company rental equipment as well as troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing pavement preservation equipment including company rental fleet and customer equipment. Service Technicians will operate forklifts, complete necessary paperwork, and assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner to achieve the highest level of service and customer experience. Service Technicians are responsible for managing the day-to-day service operations/work orders, cleanliness, and safety of the shop area, working with a cross-functional team, and providing backup to other supply center functions, as needed. They consistently deliver a positive experience, anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions.</p> <p>This position offers a competitive hourly wage with an excellent benefits package including: Profit Sharing, Matching 401(k), Health, Life, Dental, Vision, Short & Long Term Disability, Holiday, Personal, and Sick pay, Maternity Leave, and more.</p> <p>Equipment Fleet Mechanic Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Safely diagnose and execute the service/repair and preventative maintenance of rental equipment and/or customer equipment. </li><li>QC/QA completed service work to verify accuracy of work order and ensure equipment for operational readiness. </li><li>Prepare service work schedules to meet customer needs, rental fleet needs, and meet all turn-around-times/due dates for repair completion. </li><li>Review all service recommendations with customer before performing repairs, and execute service work per customer approval and within agreed upon turn around time/date. </li><li>Conduct service calls over the phone to assist with troubleshooting, within reason, as needed for customers and co-workers. Escalate calls and/or recommend equipment be brought in for service, as needed. </li><li>Perform preventative and routine maintenance checks on rental equipment before rental check-out and after rental check-in to assess: any damage, hours used, tires, mileage, fuel/oil levels, safety decals and all safety/DOT compliance. </li><li>Provide assistance to other service technicians, as needed, for troubleshooting, diagnosing service/repair needs. </li><li>Prepare and run up new equipment deliveries to ensure proper functioning for rent or sale/delivery to customer. </li><li>Assist with deliveries of products or equipment, as needed. </li><li>Perform rental check-out procedures with customers, covering proper operation and safety/safe use of equipment. </li><li>Orders parts as needed to maintain adequate supplies. </li><li>Perform safety inspections and D.O.T. compliance checks on equipment. </li><li>Perform other job duties, as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Fleet Mechanic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Minimum 1+ years related work experience </li><li>Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with variety of tools and their safe use/operation </li><li>Valid US Driver's License with acceptable driving history </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve while working under pressure or with deadlines </li><li>Ability to work independently, be self-directed and take initiative in prioritizing and executing work responsibilities </li><li>Resourceful, able to find solutions to projects and problems </li><li>Safe operation of tools including power tools, torches, lifts, drills, etc. </li><li>Physical ability to perform job functions including but not limited to: standing, sitting, bending, squatting, or remaining in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time, lifting/moving large, bulky and/or heavy items (50 lbs. or more) frequently, working in adverse conditions including hot/cold both indoors and outdoors and/or in inclement weather </li><li>Must possess a high degree of safety-awareness </li><li>Display and encourage a positive attitude, work well with others </li><li>Desire to support customer's needs and provide outstanding service and deliver quality work </li><li>Ability for local travel, as needed </li></ul> <p>Crafco, Inc. has delivered confidence through innovation, quality, and value to our customers since 1976.
