<p>All individuals interested in an apprenticeship opportunity in the plumbing trade will start out in a pre-apprentice role. The time spent in this position/capacity could be up to 12 months, but is largely dependent on an individuals demonstration of the criteria outlined on the following page. The pre-apprentice is under the supervision of a plumber on the job or directed by management while working in the shop.</p> <p>The duties to be performed by a pre-apprentice shall include the following:</p> <ul> <li>General Housekeeping </li><li>Loading, unloading, distributing and stockpiling material and equipment </li><li>Loading and unloading tools </li><li>Cleaning, pick-up, and tool repair </li><li>Cutting, patching and grouting concrete, wood or masonry holes </li><li>Coring </li><li>Digging ditches and breaking up concrete </li><li>Setting up and tearing down of minor scaffolds </li><li>Manual labor necessary for rigging, hoisting, lifting and positioning of heavy equipment </li><li>Paint, stencil and tape equipment, piping, and valves </li><li>Normal unskilled labor related to piping and plumbing including fire watch </li><li>Assisting with plumbing fabrication </li><li>Other general labor needs as required </li></ul> <p>Plumbing Pre-Apprentice Evaluation Criteria</p> <p>The criteria listed below are the criteria that a plumbing pre-apprentice will be evaluated on during the course of the first year.
