<p>Section 36 - Administrative Assistant 5</p> <p>36/50649835/AA5/03.10.26-SC</p> <p>This position serves as the principal administrative and secretarial assistant to the Publications and Plan Quality Administrator and performs and acts with authority and a high level of responsibility on administrative details, using independent judgment and initiative to control workflow through the Publications and Plan Quality Administrator's office.</p> <p>AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES: </p> <ul> <li>Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes. </li><li>Making Accurate Judgements: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning. </li><li>Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement. </li></ul> <p>Please visit our DOTD Career Center for more information about our agency: http://wwwsp.dotd.la.gov/Inside_LaDOTD/Divisions/Mgmt_Finance/HR/Pages/Career_Center.aspx</p> <p>Four years of experience in administrative services.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Independently acts with authority and judgment in matters of a routine nature in the absence of the Publications and Plan Quality Administrator.</p> </li><li> <p>Customizes and type correspondence as needed for section workflow, including, but not limited to, signatures of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary, or the Chief Engineer.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains up-to-date files on action documents and initiates follow-up correspondence on pending matters to ensure action of disposition.</p> </li><li> <p>Interprets departmental policies and procedures for section employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers the personnel program for all personnel actions, including posting positions, reallocations, and separations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains complete and accurate records on all section employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and enters payroll according to state property rules and departmental payroll rules.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <p>Compensation: Starting hourly salary of this position is $18.04/hr. and the maximum is $35.40/hr.</p> <p> </p> <p>Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment; a promotion; or by detail to special duty.</p> <p>How To Apply:</p> <p>No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. </p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
