<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position serves as the Northeast Region's Signing and Pavement Marking Engineer, performing advanced level engineering duties under the general supervision of the Maintenance Unit Supervisor. This position will perform the most complex signing and pavement marking engineering reviews and will coordinate the work of the signing and pavement marking team members while also providing direction and guidance to other Civil Engineers, Transportation Specialists, and Transportation Technicians within the region. This position is the primary engineer in responsible charge for the design, development, and review of plans and contracts (including those for major/complex projects) related to pavement marking and signing features, and will professionally advise consultants and contractors, as well as design and construction team members in matters related to signing and pavement marking. This position requires extensive traffic engineering knowledge; the position conducts traffic studies to develop and implement solutions for traffic safety and other operational problems.</p> <p>This position serves as the regional expert on signing and pavement marking traffic control. This position leads the development, coordination, and Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) submittal of signing and pavement marking plans participate in the region review of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA's) for land use development, which may affect the operation of the STH systems; assists the planning unit in determining the effects of a land development, and also what type of remediation may be required for that development; authorizes regulations as delegated by statute; and provides oversight and direction on Traffic Incident Management issues.</p> <p>To view the full position description, please reach out to Allie Strullmyer at allison.strullmyer@dot.wi.gov.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $112,236, plus excellent benefits. Plus, an additional $2,080 per year for a Professional Engineer License.</p> <p>A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Travel Requirements</p> <p>This position requires the ability to independently travel statewide with potential overnight stays at remote locations.</p> <p>Fieldwork Requirement</p> <p>This position requires fieldwork. This fieldwork can include working in all seasons, including adverse weather conditions and working in high volume traffic conditions, bending on a limited basis, and lifting approximately 50 lbs. and carrying this load approximately 50 feet over varying terrain.</p> <p>Standby Requirement</p> <p>This position is required to serve in standby status as a member of the Region's Statewide Incident Notification Team on a rotating basis.</p> <p>This state agency does not sponsor work visas.
