<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Special Education/SPED/PPS Stipend</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/2/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Special Education</p> <p>(High-Needs School)</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>The CPSE/CSE chairperson must have a solid knowledge of CPSE/CSE NYS law, guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education services.</p> <p>The chair must have the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, </li><li>Interpret an extensive variety of data and deal with several agencies that include: </li><li>Understand the Statutory and Regulatory Foundations, ESSA IDEA FAPE, Additional Federal Laws, SPP/Annual Performance Plan (APR), NYS Laws and Commissioner's Regulations, Part 200 and Additional NYS Policy and Guidance Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities </li></ul> <p>Candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Understand the special education process (from referral to reevaluation) as delineated in education laws and regulations. </li><li>Know the role of the Chairperson and the Committee. </li><li>Develop practices that encourage parental involvement and cultivate home-school partnerships. </li><li>Identify strategies for leading the Committee in making high-quality decisions that will result in an individualized education program (IEP) that meets State requirements and will result in educational benefit to the student. </li></ul> <p>Candidate must have a full knowledge of FAPE as it relates to CSE, that include:</p> <p>Referral</p> <ul> <li>Evaluation </li><li>Eligibility </li><li>Recommendations/IEP Development </li><li>Implementing and Amending the IEP </li><li>Review/Annual Review </li><li>Reevaluation </li><li>Effective §504 and CSE Meetings </li><li>CPSE to CSE transition types </li></ul>
