<p>Schedule</p> <p>PRN: PRN employee, to work no less than 12-hour per month after completing orientation. Orientation can work up to FTE to complete orientation</p> <p>General Summary</p> <p>Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to the care and treatment of patients suffering from urgent and emergent disease and/or injury states in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols. according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Responds to EMS calls whether emergency or routine transport, observes safety policies and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others. </li><li>Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. </li><li>Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. </li><li>Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues I.V. fluids. </li><li>Responds to emergency non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider when appropriate, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) EMS protocols. </li></ul> <p>Common Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. </li><li>Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. </li><li>Participates in educational programs and in service meetings. </li><li>Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED Required </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1 year In busy 911 system. Required </li></ul> <p>Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Upon Hire Required and </li><li>Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and </li><li>Certified EMS Vehicle Operator Upon Hire Required </li></ul> <p>Driver's License Statement:</p> <p>Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.</p> <p>Courses and Training:</p> <ul> <li>Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC); National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 - Hazardous Materials Awareness.
