DAs are responsible for staffing front desks & the centralized mailroom, assisting with administrative tasks, helping residents with keys/access, sorting mail, providing exceptional customer service, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Staff the main customer service desks in the Residence Halls and Washakie Center. </li><li>Answer questions from residents, provide guidance/directions, and assist with safety/security of community. </li><li>Staff the centralized mail room and assist with mail/package delivery, sorting, and organizing into lockers and resident mailboxes. </li><li>Assist with various administrative, facility, and operational tasks within the building. </li><li>Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. </li><li>Role model positive personal, academic, and job-related behaviors. </li><li>Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and pride for the DA position. </li><li>Review, understand, and uphold all items outlined in the Apartment & Residence Hall Policies & Procedures, the Student Code of Conduct, and the Desk Assistant Agreement. </li></ul> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: None</p> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Adaptability </li><li>Ability to Learn </li><li>Integrity </li><li>Service Orientation </li><li>Work Standards </li><li>Technical/Professional Knowledge </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>As a Desk Assistant, I understand, I will be expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 throughout employment as a Desk Assistant. </li><li>Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours undergraduate; 9 hours graduate). </li><li>Complete and be expected to pass a criminal background check. </li><li>Have a positive financial, academic, and student conduct status with Housing, Dining, and Residence Life and the University of Wyoming. </li><li>Be available to work at least two overnight shifts at a 24-hour desk. </li><li>Be available for training sessions, desk scheduling, and monthly staff meetings. </li><li>Be a strong team player willing to cover/trade shifts as needed and support the overall mission of the residential community. </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Previous desk assistant experience.</p> <p>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:</p> <p>Complete the online application and upload the following for a complete application: cover letter, resume or C.V. and contact information for four work-related references.</p> <p>WORK LOCATION:</p> <p>On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.</p> <p>HIRING STATEMENT/EEO:</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
