<p>Industrial Engineering Co-op/Intern- Fall 2026</p> <p>This job description reflects potential openings for the Fall 2026 Co-op/Internship Session (August - December). This is a general job description and represents multiple openings in various departments. Honda offers both single and multi-semester co-ops and internships. College students must apply to the requisition pertaining to their major and semester of interest.</p> <p>Please note: Sponsorship for employment visa status for these positions is unavailable. Applicants requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., F-1 CPT/OPT, H-1B, TN, etc.) will not be considered.</p> <p>More about the Industrial Engineering Co-op/Intern at Honda</p> <p>The below descriptions reflect potential environments and duties within our various Industrial Engineering Co-op/ Intern positions that we offer. Work environments and projects may include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Manufacturing</p> <ul> <li>Focus on equipment, process, quality and new model activities related to the department of placement </li><li>Project management </li><li>Problem analysis </li><li>Production support </li><li>Investigating new technologies and implementing countermeasures </li></ul> <p>Quality</p> <ul> <li>Learning and performing vehicle testing </li><li>Conducting tests for chassis, brakes, controls, bonnet, trunk and/ or door systems </li><li>Testing procedures and test fixtures </li><li>New model development, drawing, studying, layouts and design change requests </li><li>Investigating and providing countermeasures for mass production design related issues </li><li>Warranty data trend analysis </li><li>Re-creating problem failures to determine root cause, countermeasure development and confirmation testing </li></ul> <p>Purchasing</p> <ul> <li>Completing supplier process capabilities assessments </li><li>Problem reporting and analysis </li><li>Countermeasure implementation </li><li>Investigating suspect part issues </li><li>Approve part changes </li><li>Approve/ verify supplier countermeasures and issues trouble reports </li><li>Various daily tasks such as attending meetings, working on project activities, problem analysis, writing technical reports, troubleshooting manufacturing or quality problems and communication to internal/ external customers </li></ul> <p>Facilities</p> <ul> <li>Updating and documenting computer-aided design drawings of existing infrastructure </li><li>Analyzing and designing existing sanitation, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and building pressure systems </li><li>Developing short and long-term solutions to problems found </li><li>Designing modifications of existing facilities structures </li><li>Updating mechanical engineering specifications and standards </li><li>Reviewing electrical drawings </li><li>Learning and understanding plant power infrastructure </li><li>Verifying electrical panel schedules and updating highbay light locations </li></ul> <p>Tooling/ Equipment Design</p> <ul> <li>Designing manufacturing equipment and tooling in 2D and 3D computer-aided design systems </li><li>Determining equipment electrical hardware, software (Programmable Logic Controller, Human-Machine Interface, etc) and safety requirements, and appropriate design </li><li>Managing a schedule and tracking daily process </li><li>Investigating and troubleshooting problems during installation and manufacturing </li></ul> <p>What you need to be successful in this role</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship </li><li>General Engineering Coursework </li><li>Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher (You will be required to provide your current transcript) </li><li>Class status- Sophomore (by credit hour) or above </li><li>Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week. </li><li>Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program studying Mechanical Engineering or related field. </li><li>Valid U.S. Driver's License (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis) </li><li>Ability to provide own transportation to and from work each day. </li><li>Desired: Auto computer-aided design, Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA), Manufacturing related coursework </li></ul> <p>Position Locations</p> <p>Industrial Engineering Co-op/ Intern positions are offered in the cities/ states listed below, if you are selected to move forward in the process, you will be given the opportunity to make selections on your location preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Marysville, Ohio (45 minutes northwest of Columbus, Ohio </li></ul> <p>Honda Co-operative and Learning Internships Program Benefits</p> <p>Housing Accommodations: Honda offers housing at a shared cost or a housing stipend based on location for our Co-ops and Interns. It is not required to opt-in to, but is available should you need housing at the time of your Co-op/ Internship with Honda.</p> <p>Honda Business Resource Groups: One of the ways Honda gives diversity a voice is through its business resource groups. Our Wellness Centers are full gyms equipped with cardio machines, weights, basketball courts, pools, dieticians, personal trainers and group fitness classes.</p> <p>Paid overtime: Co-ops and Interns will receive 1.5 times their hourly rate of pay for any overtime worked.</p> <p>Consideration for full time employment: Our Cooperative Learning Internships program is utilized as a talent pipeline for our full time positions!</p> <p>Hourly Wage Range: $27.22-$35.22</p> <p>Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to, geographic location, work experience, education, etc.</p> <p>Additional details regarding Honda Co-op and Intern benefits are provided upon offer.</p> <p>Consideration for full time employment: Our Cooperative Learning Internships program is utilized as a talent pipeline for our full-time positions!</p> <p>Additional details regarding Honda Co-op and Intern benefits are provided upon offer.</p>
