<p>Job Type: Regular</p> <p>Time Type: Full time</p> <p>Work Shift: Night (United States of America)</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.</p> <p>36hpw; 7p-7:30a, every other weekend and holiday</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Unit Description:</p> <p>The Clinical Decision Unit is designed to hold patients whose medical conditions require specific clinically defined hospital-based services that include short term treatments, assessments and reassessments through periodic monitoring by staff who evaluate whether the patient can be discharged from the hospital or require inpatient status/admission. Patient expected Length of stay is 8-48 hours, therefore theadmission/transfer/dischargeactivity, (ADT), of this unit is expected to be high and therefore fast paced. This clinical area features a pace similar to the Emergency Room with diagnostic work ups and care needs in a telemetry setting.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, educate and document the nursing care of patients set forth by organizational policies and in accordance with the standards of professional nursing practice. </li><li>Utilizes specialized knowledge, judgement, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, as well as, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the patient to facilitate a safe discharge. </li><li>Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients. </li><li>Participates in formal and informal educational programs to improve technical skills. </li><li>Responsible for continued learning and application to practice. </li><li>Responsible to provide patient and family education. </li></ul> <p>It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.</p> <p>Registration/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Current MA RN License </li><li>AHA BLS certification required. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li>12 months of recent Acute Care RN experience preferred. </li><li>Current telemetry experience preferred. </li><li>Evidence of continuing education. </li><li>Utilizes appropriate time management skills and communicates effectively. </li><li>Documented Professional Development activities </li><li>Knowledge of Critical Paths </li><li>Charge Nurse experience preferred </li><li>BSN preferred </li><li>AHA ACLS certification preferred </li></ul> <p>As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
