Learn more about the College here.</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach/Aquatics Director will assist administratively as the primary point of contact for the Cosgrove, Marcus, Messer Athletic Center pool.</p> <p>As the Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach, this individual is accountable for building the requisite roster size and developing a student-athlete recruitment plan to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of appropriate rosters. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and competitions. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience, and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Aquatics Director</p> <ul> <li>Serves as primary department point person for oversight of Athletic Center pool, including regular communication with internal and external constituents related to facility usage. </li><li>Develops a monthly calendar to be shared internally and externally for the purpose of informing the general public and campus community. </li><li>Primary point of contact with third-party vendor related to pool maintenance. </li><li>Collaborates with Campus Events Team regarding outside rental vendors to ensure to contracts are issued to all groups. </li><li>Ensures that all aquatics technology (touchpads, scoreboards, diving boards, etc.) are working properly and reports any matters needing outside repair to the Director of Athletics. </li><li>Schedules lifeguards or other supervisory staff as required for internal and external events, and completes necessary payroll functions for those employees that the individual supervises. </li><li>Utilizes Ad Astra program to update all aquatics events within the facility for campus use. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. </li></ul> <p>Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach</p> <ul> <li>Develops and implements a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of men's and women's swimming and diving in accordance with the College's enrollment growth strategies. </li><li>Develops and implements a daily practice plan to insure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition. </li><li>Provides contest preparation by scouting opponents. </li><li>Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation. </li><li>Supervises assistant coaches and provides feedback for continued growth and development. </li><li>Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sport. </li><li>Represents their respective program during coaches' meetings. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules. </li><li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s). </li><li>General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level. </li><li>A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated experience as an athlete or coach of the sport. </li><li>General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level. </li><li>A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience. </li></ul> <p>Benefits at a Glance:</p> <p>Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. They accrue between 18 and 23 days of paid time off annually. After 90 days of employment, tuition remission is available, with the college covering 100% of tuition costs (employees are responsible for books and technology fees). The college values work-life balance, offering a summer schedule from June through August. Employees also enjoy 14 paid holidays, including a winter break.
