<p>We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal AI Engineer - Konexo US at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.</p> <p>The Legal Engineer - AI and Automation will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of AI-based and automated solutions to enhance legal workflows. This role requires a unique blend of legal knowledge, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to drive innovation and efficiency within the firm. The Legal Engineer will collaborate with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure the successful deployment and adoption of AI and automation technologies.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>AI and Automation Development: Design, develop, and implement AI-based and automated solutions to improve legal workflows and processes. </li><li>Prompt Engineering: Develop, write, and refine calls to Large Language Models (LLMs) in collaboration with cross functional teams </li><li>Client-Specific Deployments: Serve as a subject-matter expert, collaborating with the Client Engagement team to deploy AI platforms with client-specific customizations. </li><li>Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve existing processes through the integration of new and emerging technologies. </li><li>Stakeholder Communication: Communicate clearly and confidently with diverse stakeholders, including lawyers and engineers, to ensure alignment and support for AI initiatives. </li><li>Training and Support: Deliver product demos and training sessions to clients and internal teams to facilitate the adoption of AI and automation solutions. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a computer related field from an accredited college or university is required. Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years in the legal industry, such as a law firm, consulting firm, ALSP, or in-house legal department. </li><li>Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts. Experience with process automation, scripting, and workflow design. Proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications and Microsoft Copilot Studio Power Apps and AI agents. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal communication, written and verbal communication skills with critical thinking are required. Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a timely manner. Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders is required. Good customer service interaction is required. Must be able to shift perspectives to see both the Technology Department's and the end users' goals and experiences. Good judgment and ability to interact effectively with attorneys and firm personnel at all levels with a high degree of professionalism is required. Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Must have the ability to lead by example and work with staff and Firm management in a service-oriented, team environment. </li><li>Coachable, dependable, continuous learner that is excited about innovation in the legal industry. </li><li>Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable juggling multiple client relationships. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines. </li></ul> <p>This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. The salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $108,000 - $208,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors.
