We specialize in sourcing and sustaining mission-critical parts at risk of obsolescence across land, air, and sea platforms - ensuring operational readiness for the U.S. Department of Defense.</p> <p>With a hands-on approach to design, procurement, fabrication, and testing, we solve complex sourcing challenges and keep legacy systems mission-capable. Join a team that thrives on technical excellence, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world impact.</p> <p>Our team is looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join them. You will report to the Program Manager, Bids and Proposals and will have an onsite work structure in Plainview, NY.</p> <p>To be considered for the Technical Sales Representative opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience and training obtained from specific subject area training programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>As a Technical Sales Representative, you will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, industry trends, and competitors to provide accurate information to solicit opportunities for the DoD, and Commercial opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with engineering, product development, and sales team to relay customer feedback, customer challenges, and develop tailored proposals or presentations</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare sales reports, track customer interactions, using CRM software, monitor competitor activity, provide insights to management on open solicitations or opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Select and process order entry for DLA, NAVSUP, or Air Force solicitations from the government portals (i.e. DIBBS, NSN-NOW, or SAM.GOV)</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities and qualify potential clients through RFI, RFP, and RFQ solicitations</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain strong understanding of the products and services being sold, ability to read technical documentation, and proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and address concerns to ensure customer satisfaction</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct presentations explaining complex concepts in a clear, understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate understanding of the structure of technical sales department and its relationship to the company business model/plan, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Determine and plot out possible sales pipelines</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate ability to listen to customers' questions and ask questions to elicit information which can help identify customers' needs</p> </li><li> <p>Track product usage by customer(s), evaluate trends and analyze needs of market, Ontic, and the supplier</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate client maintenance using CRM software applications, reporting, project management programs, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement CRM strategies to improve customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction, aligning with Onitc's strategic objectives</p> </li></ul> <p>Our Benefits:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comprehensive medical insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Competitive PTO, holiday pay, and sick leave</p> </li><li> <p>Company 401K plan with up to 4% matched contribution</p> </li><li> <p>Annual bonus program (varies by level and discretionary based on company and individual performance)</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible working arrangements</p> </li><li> <p>Paid volunteering opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Access to mental health champions across our sites</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to development</p> </li><li> <p>Employee referral program</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <ul> <li>$25 - $28/hour, based on experience </li></ul> <p>#LI-Onsite</p> <p>EOE/Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/Veteran</p> <p>Compensation Pay Range</p> <p>$25 - $28/hour, based on experience</p> <p>Please click here to review Ontic's California Consumer Privacy Act policy.</p> <p>Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
