All positions and services now fall under the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health as we move forward in serving individuals, families, and communities across the state.</p> <p>What you'll do at DBH:</p> <p>This role requires a working knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures to ensure a safe and clean working environment for clients and staff. Additional job duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Performing housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean residential area, such as dust mopping, sweeping, buffing and waxing floors, scrubbing sinks, toilets, countertops, walls, and ceilings, dusting and cleaning furniture and equipment, emptying and washing trash receptacles, removing and cleaning or replacing drapes, rehanging drapes, installing curtain rods, washing windows, polishing mirrors and glass, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. This also includes sweeping and scrubbing corridor floors and washing windows. </li><li>Removing litter from the outside grounds of the residential area, clearing snow and ice from walkways, picking up litter, sweeping walkways, and reporting any signs of fire, illegal entry, or theft. Additionally, responsibilities include raising and lowering the flag. </li><li>Performing other related duties such as stocking supply closets, replacing light bulbs, reporting equipment repair needs, securing doors and windows, moving furniture, and sorting and washing linens and laundry. </li><li>Attending required in-service trainings and staff meetings as assigned. </li><li>Continuously and proactively assessing environmental situations, organizational policies, and procedures. Monitoring the behavior of staff, clients, and visitors for any situations that could pose risks and reporting them appropriately. </li></ul> <p>This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of # 2 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Day Shift. This position is located within Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 100 Hospital Drive, Athens, Ohio 45701.</p> <p>Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.</p> <p>Additional Salary / Appointment Information:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to complete a 2-week (business days Monday-Friday) full-time orientation. </li><li>May be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior. </li><li>Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment. </li></ul> <p>At DBH we strive to attract and sustain a diverse workforce by recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining high-performing employees who work collaboratively to balance efforts toward providing prevention and recovery supports and fostering inclusion that inspires innovation, encourages respect and promotes unlimited success.</p> <p>To learn more about our agency, please visit our website at www.dbh.ohio.gov/</p> <ul> <li>Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria: </li></ul> <p>Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary. In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2), revised code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.</p> <ul> <li>Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Required Educational Transcripts</p> <p>Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application. Applicants must submit an official transcript before receiving a formal employment offer. Failure to provide transcripts within five (5) business days of the request will result in disqualification from further consideration. Transcripts printed from the institution's website will not be accepted. DBH reserves the right to evaluate the academic validity of the degree-granting institution.</p>
