Our programs equip future professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for immediate employment, while also offering current criminal justice practitioners opportunities for career advancement and professional development.</p> <p>The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach.</p> <p>Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:</p> <ul> <li>Dayton Correctional - Dayton, Ohio </li><li>Lebanon Correctional - Lebanon, Ohio </li><li>Warren Correctional - Lebanon, Ohio </li><li>Correctional Reception Center - Columbus, Ohio </li><li>Pickaway Correctional - Columbus (Orient), Ohio </li><li>Ross Correctional - Chillicothe, Ohio </li><li>Madison Correctional - London, Ohio </li><li>SCC has the right to revise this position description at any time. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning </li><li>Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies </li><li>Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate </li><li>Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs </li><li>Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success </li><li>Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress </li><li>Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of student information </li><li>Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in criminal justice or law required </li><li>Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level </li><li>Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community </li><li>Possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction required </li><li>Ability to pass a DRC background check required </li><li>Must be able to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting </li></ul> <p>Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.</p>
