<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that all HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met </li><li>Prepare, critique, and edit written documents and correspondence for accuracy and presentation </li><li>Review and distribute incoming and outgoing office correspondence </li><li>Organize and/or assist in preparation of materials for internal and external meetings and classes </li><li>Maintain classrooms and classroom usage schedule </li><li>Schedule meetings and appointments as required </li><li>Manage the inventory of office and general supplies </li><li>Prepare purchase requisitions for office, classroom, and shop supplies </li><li>Assist with apprentice program recruitment, testing, and interviewing </li><li>Manage confidential information and materials </li><li>Coordinate subcontractor welder qualification tests </li><li>Support production and coordinate all weld certifications for employees and contractors, as needed </li><li>Collaborate with subcontractors, HR, Production, Quality, and ABS </li><li>Schedule ABS inspections of welder qualification tests </li><li>Prepare test coupons and requisite paperwork/digital files for ABS inspections </li><li>Track all HPSI/Contractor welding tests and input certifications into ETQ </li><li>Maintain all welder qualification records and profiles </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of testing area(s) </li><li>Manage the inventory of welder test plates </li><li>Assist with apprentice instruction as needed </li><li>Perform other related duties as required and assigned </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish-speaking individuals </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Decision Making/Problem Solving </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Time management </li><li>Willingness and ability to work as a team member </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent required </li><li>Manufacturing industry background preferred, but not required </li><li>Two years' experience in an administrative role </li><li>Experience with Welding FCAW and SMAW a plus </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.</p> <ul> <li>Hanwha Philly Shipyard is a TOBACCO-FREE facility. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
