The university serves a large and growing population of remote</p> <p>learnings in Master's and doctoral degrees The university's progressive approach to higher</p> <p>education prepares students to meet real-world industry demands.</p> <p>Capitol Artificial Intelligence Learning and Innovation Environment (CAILIE) Overview:</p> <p>Capitol Tech University has invested over $1.3M in GPU infrastructure, including (24) Nvidia</p> <p>H200 GPUs, 400Gbps RoCE networking, and 200TB of NVMe storage. The lab infrastructure</p> <p>will be based on open-source technologies including Linux and Kubernetes. We are looking for</p> <p>passionate infrastructure and AI engineers to help build-out our lab with new capabilities that</p> <p>allow our researchers and students to train, evaluate, and integrate complex workflow agents into</p> <p>different projects across the university.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Artificial Intelligence Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and overall</p> <p>strategic direction of the Capitol Artificial Intelligence Learning and Innovation Environment</p> <p>(CAILIE). This role involves overseeing the technical setup and ongoing management of</p> <p>advanced AI infrastructure, ensuring that the lab meets the research and educational needs of the</p> <p>university's students, faculty, and industry partners.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the design and implementation of the CAILIE's technical architecture, including </li></ul> <p>hardware, software, and networking components.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with faculty, students, and industry partners to identify and meet the lab's </li></ul> <p>evolving technical requirements.</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the CAILIE, aligning with the university's </li></ul> <p>long-term goals in AI research and education.</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate new technologies and </li></ul> <p>tools that enhance the lab's capabilities.</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of AI systems and infrastructure within the </li></ul> <p>lab.</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and mentor junior technical staff, providing guidance and expertise on complex </li></ul> <p>technical challenges.</p> <ul> <li>Manage the budget and procurement processes for the lab's technical resources. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a </li></ul> <p>Master's degree is preferred.</p> <ul> <li>High proficiency in Linux operating system (Debian-based distros) and Kubernetes. </li><li>7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design and management, with a focus on AI, </li></ul> <p>high-performance computing, or cloud-based environments</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in leading technical projects from concept to completion. </li><li>Strong knowledge of AI frameworks, GPU computing, and data center operations. </li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>Based on current market rates, the salary for this position typically ranges from $110,000 to</p> <p>$130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.</p>
