<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The purpose of the Director of Development- Athletics job is to ensure that the University assets are protected through applicable external and internal regulations and support all development initiatives, with emphasis on major gifts and supporting campaign initiatives.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Building donor relationships by utilizing research, objectives, programs of cultivation and solicitation, evaluation, and stewardship. </li><li>Create and execute a development plan to increase financial contributions for ULM Athletics. </li><li>Establish and maintain a close working relationship with ULM Athletic Foundation Board </li><li>Work closely with ULM Foundation development staff to build and maintain momentum and focus for all fundraising efforts </li><li>Attend and be actively involved in all internal and external Development initiatives, and any other university-wide initiatives, as applicable and available </li><li>Adhering to the highest ethical standards and fundraising best practices by reflecting an optimistic and positive attitude and conveying sensitivity to the needs to donors. </li><li>Serve on the Director of Athletics' senior staff to plan, implement, support, and review annual initiatives for the athletic department. </li><li>Assist the Director of Athletics' senior staff with plans and initiatives for revenue generation opportunities. </li><li>Enhance an organization that executes the business of Division I athletics while also being a committed partner with the academic community. </li><li>Implement plans, policies, procedures, and programs that are in compliance with the University of Louisiana System, university, conference, NCAA rules and regulations, applicable state and federal laws, and which promote the mission of the Department, as well as the University's high standard of academic excellence and the general welfare of student-athletes. </li><li>Help ensure an environment that is committed to the best interest of student-athletes, consistent with their educational, ethical, social, and physical development. </li><li>Foster a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness throughout all levels of the organization. </li><li>Understand and communicate the value of athletics to the overall mission and strategic plan of the University to both internal and external constituencies. </li><li>Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred </li><li>3-5 years of fundraising experience in higher education and/or collegiate athletics preferred </li><li>Experience with planned giving and the fundraising software, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, is preferred. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred </li><li>Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations </li><li>Proven history of excellent administrative skills </li><li>Business acumen and skill in revenue generation. </li><li>Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with multiple constituent groups. </li><li>Unwavering commitment to ethics and fiscal responsibility. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, community, diversity, and gender equity. </li><li>Must demonstrate an appreciation of university culture and tradition. </li><li>Have shown a proven record of fiscal accountability and commitment to financial integrity. </li></ul>
