<p>The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $114,332 to $142,916</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Environmental Program Management expert is responsible for ensuring that Environmental Programs and Management Systems are established, implemented, maintained and in process improvement in accordance to ISO 14001 or other relevant Company or legal standards in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Lead Avangrid to the highest levels of performance in the Environmental area. Administers and implements Environmental programs, provides technical guidance on environmental topics and regulatory environments and ensures compliance of environmental programs and policies and strategies by all management and operations personnel. Incorporate an environmental care approach to Avangrid operations. Lead teams of Contractors and Analysts as needed in support of environmental priorities.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide direction to AVANGRID Environmental & Permitting Regional Network Areas (CT and MA) as a Environmental Subject Matter Expert (SME). </li><li>Support staff across multiple divisions/Operating Companies to ensure operating units are in compliance with all appropriate local, state and federal regulations. </li><li>Perform annual review of environmental risks; report findings and develop action plans for high priority risks with AVANGRID Networks Compliance group. </li><li>Lead the coordination and implementation of solutions/controls to address environmental compliance risks for AVANGRID. </li><li>Lead and Manage Environmental management system compliance with the use of SAI360, to support and ensure overall Company compliance with all applicable environmental and compliance training, related laws, regulations, standards, license conditions, best management practices and newly identified risks. </li><li>Responsible for ensuring that the Environmental Management System is established, implemented, maintained and in process improvement in accordance to ISO 14001 and other Company practices. Ensure Company compliance for: air pollution control, waste management, waste water discharges, chemical and oil propane handling and storage, PCB management, underground storage tanks, SPCC, RCRA, TSCA, and wetland management, etc. </li><li>Monitor and oversee Environmental Compliance Schedules for various operating companies </li><li>Environmental & Permitting Management with the evaluation, implementation, and training needed to comply with Environmental programs including but not limited to: Air Permits, SPDES Permits, Underground and Above Ground Storage Tanks, EPCRA, SPCC, Recycling Programs, Universal Wastes, Management of Used Oil </li><li>Provide oversight and guidance of Avangrid's Spoils Management Program </li><li>Oversee existing and provide support for obtaining new Contracts with vendors for various environmental media and waste management </li><li>Manage AVANGRID Networks (CT) environmental budget. </li><li>Manage and oversee 24/7/365 Spill Response Program and Team </li><li>Active participant in creating, developing, and facilitating existing and new Standard Operating Procedures </li><li>Interfaces with Environmental consultants and subcontractors for studies, clean-ups, waste disposal, training etc. </li><li>Represent the organization and participate on various industry associations or committees. Consult with external sources, colleagues and functional area experts to determine best practices and apply them in a cost-effective manner. </li><li>Fosters benchmarking and integration within Avangrid OpCo's environmental processes and procedures. </li><li>Promotes efficiency of environmental processes by use of available IT solutions, including SAI360. </li><li>Reviews site inspections and company audits. </li><li>Assists in preparing regulatory compliance reports to management. </li><li>Establish inclusive relationships with key leaders to promote positive safety and environmental culture. </li><li>Act as a liaison for Iberdrola in Corporate initiatives that require local participation/contribution. </li><li>Act as Environmental Branch Participant for CT during storm events </li><li>Communicating regularly with CT DEEP & MADEP. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (EHS, Engineering, or Environmental Engineering preferred) with a minimum of eight years (8) relevant Environmental experience required. </li><li>Exceptional knowledge and understanding of pertinent federal, state and local regulatory codes including DOT, EPA, RCRA, CT DEEP, and spoils management </li><li>Demonstrated media expertise in the environmental discipline. </li><li>Knowledge of environmental state (CT, MA) and federal regulations for utility industry. </li><li>Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems including ISO 14001. </li><li>Demonstrated project/program management skills including; Highly developed skills for defining and prioritizing product / project features </li><li>Knowledge and experience with data systems including SAP, GIS, and SAI 360. </li><li>A clear understanding of the whole value chain and the key processes within each business. </li><li>Ability to operate and positively influence at all levels in the organization and with external stakeholders. </li><li>Ability to devise and implement practical solutions to complex and risk-based problems or challenges. </li><li>Demonstrated track record of moving projects from concept to evaluation phase rapidly </li><li>Advanced problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. </li><li>Able to analyze complex information, distill salient items and create appropriate action plans.
