As the only fully integrated maker of wire, rope and assemblies, our solutions are found in aerospace, defense, med tech, and heavy industry applications around the globe- in large part because of the people behind our products.</p> <p>Job Title: Strand Annealing Machine Operator</p> <p>Position Overview: Set-up, adjust and operate production machinery to anneal and electroplate various metal alloys and diameters. Operate annealing and electroplating machinery to produce quality products according to specific "Work Instructions".</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications. </li><li>Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates. </li><li>Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery. </li><li>Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance. </li><li>Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine) </li><li>Obtain all required approvals. </li><li>Label packages. </li><li>Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machines. </li><li>Record and document production as well as all downtime. </li><li>Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections. </li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area. </li><li>Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained. </li><li>Complete all documentation and turn in work order to supervisor. </li><li>Train new operators. </li><li>Cut samples for quality control. </li><li>Work in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Work in confined spaces. </li><li>Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Department Duties and responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Adjust machinery including changing dies, speed, temperature, process gases, etc. </li><li>Consistently string payoff; point weld, and grind material as applicable </li><li>Consistently set up by measuring wire diameter between each draw </li><li>Set up and operate In line copper coat machines </li><li>Monitor wire quality </li><li>Read SDS's to familiarized with chemicals used </li><li>Authorize to request the initiation of an internal corrective action </li><li>Place material on hold, if necessary, stop production when nonconforming wire is found </li><li>Focus on machines that need constant attention </li><li>Work in various temperature environment </li><li>Work in a dusty environment </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Work overtime as required. </li><li>Assist production manager and other operators as necessary </li><li>Ability to communicate - verbal and written. </li><li>Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy. </li><li>Basic computer skills for data entry purposes </li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. </li><li>Constant standing & walking </li><li>Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching </li><li>Multi-Tasking skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent preferred </li><li>Forklift experience preferred </li><li>1-2 years in industrial machinery </li><li>Predictable and consistent attendance is required </li></ul> <p>Job Type: Full-time</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Health insurance </li><li>Dental insurance </li><li>Vision Insurance </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>401(k) </li><li>401(k) matching </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Employee assistance program </li><li>Referral program </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Shift: 8-hour shift</p> <p>Work Location: In person</p> <p>Central Wire Group of Companies is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
