<p>To plan and manage architecture and design of enterprise data and analytics platform, data engineering teams and strategic initiatives that ensure data management practices align with organizational goals. The Senior Manager provides leadership and direction through managers and is accountable for the performance and results of related teams and/or functions. Supports executive leadership in defining organizational goals and strategic plans and translates strategic vision into policies and operational plans for a broad functional area.</p> <p>The Senior Manager - Data Engineering in Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM) within Enterprise Technology Services (ETS), will work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional setting leading the engineering and implementation of enterprise data platforms. The role is responsible for driving the strategy and delivery for Operational Data Engineering. This includes collaborating with business stakeholders to support Real-time Event Streaming, Master Data Management, Data Hubs, Channel Integration, and API enablement. The role will promote the culture of a data-centric organization to meet enterprise transformation goals and vision.</p> <p>This position is eligible for the Talent Quest employee referral program. If an employee refers you to this job, please apply using the system-generated link that was sent to you.</p> <ul> <li>Define the roadmap for Operational Data Engineering covering Real-time Event Streaming, Master Data Management, Data Hubs, Channel Integration and API Enablement in alignment with stakeholders </li><li>Manage Data Engineering teams with responsibilities including data architecture, data modeling, and data platform engineering </li><li>Manage people establishing clear performance objectives, set strategic priorities and provide mentorship </li><li>Prepare requirements for Annual Financial Planning in alignment with stakeholders and manage budgets </li><li>Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy </li><li>Collaborate with Enterprise Data Governance and Information Security in designing secure and governed data platforms </li><li>Collaborate with teams including Enterprise Architecture, API Platform Services, DevSec Ops and Cloud Network Engineering to implement features that improve performance and scalability </li><li>Recommend solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through use of technology </li><li>Continually monitor the financial services industry technology landscape to track the latest innovations across the industry and communicate relevant information to ETS leadership </li><li>Applies industry expertise and awareness to drive financial and operational performance within a division </li><li>Significant experience with Real-Time Event Streaming platforms (Confluent Kafka or similar) to provision data sets for Channel Applications and Analytics </li><li>Significant experience with Operational Data Hubs using NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB and related query languages </li><li>Significant experience with Master Data Management practices and implementing real-time MDM platforms using Reltio or similar tools </li><li>Experience provisioning data sets to consuming channel applications through Data Hubs and APIs in real-time </li><li>Expert-level knowledge in data engineering including data modeling, data governance and data security </li><li>Extensive experience in formulating enterprise-wide strategies for the development of Real-time data integration enabling advanced analytics including AI, ML and NLP capabilities in cloud (Azure or similar) </li><li>Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java </li><li>Experience in working with ETL platforms (e.g., Databricks) using JSON, Parquet, Delta and other file formats to provision data sets for business applications </li><li>Significant understanding of Scaled Agile and related practices to deliver data engineering solutions </li><li>Requires a comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards as well as the changing business environment </li><li>Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence others internally and externally; including senior executives, vendors and regulators </li><li>Significant experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative taking, decision-making and creativity </li><li>Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors </li><li>Significant experience in supervising and leading professional IT employees </li><li>Advanced verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills to communicate clearly and concisely technical and non-technical information to all levels of management </li><li>Demonstrated ability to carry out initiatives in an environment that may be resistant to change </li><li>10-15 years of relevant experience, with 8+ years management experience </li><li>Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or related technical field </li><li>Experience with API platforms such as MuleSoft </li><li>Knowledge of Navy Federal Credit Union instructions, standards, and procedures </li></ul> <p>Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM</p> <p>Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 | 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 | 141 Security Drive, Winchester, VA 22602</p>
