<p>The Multimedia Content Creator brings Syracuse University to life through compelling content production. This role combines creative storytelling, technical expertise, and collaborative teamwork to develop high-quality multimedia assets that advance strategic business and marketing objectives. Can turn finished multimedia projects with speed, quality and efficiency. Working often under the direction of digital leadership, can shoot and edit a finished multimedia project quickly, sometimes daily, in order to advance the content and digital strategy. Understands and can consistently and effectively bring the Syracuse University brand to life by following brand guidelines.</p> <p>The multimedia content creator works in partnership with other members of the multimedia team to follow stylistic approaches, to use equipment effectively and to archive footage consistently. Is able to quickly ideate, produce, create and edit post-production dynamic multimedia content (including but not limited to: strong interviewing skills, shooting b-roll, photography and soundbites). Works closely with marketing, digital/social and content strategy teams to advance business objectives by use of multimedia assets. Uses marketing best practices to produce multimedia content and has competency in applying best practices and techniques.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. </li><li>Three (3+) plus years of experience working in a high performing marketing operation. </li><li>Experience in sound design and creating motion graphics to enhance content engagement. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Track-record of producing effective multimedia content for use across the marketing platforms. </li><li>Demonstrated skills in shooting and editing. </li><li>Deep knowledge of multimedia equipment. </li><li>Excellent interviewing skills. </li><li>Proficiency in still photography and videography, with a keen eye for composition and visual storytelling. </li><li>Expertise in Adobe Premiere for video editing and post-production </li><li>Ability to configure, operate and maintain studio and/or field audio, lighting and associated production equipment. </li><li>Knowledge of computerized tape editing applications and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plays critical role in bringing the Syracuse University brand to life effectively and consistently though compelling multimedia deliverables. </li><li>Based on the needs of the project, the content creator will use their artistic and technical skills to create content from concept to production. </li><li>Ideates, produces, creates, edits, multimedia content. </li><li>Operates multimedia equipment, on location or in the studio, works with strategy, creative and digital teams and subjects to create compelling content for various platforms. </li><li>Can turn raw or fully packaged content within a few hours or a day when needed. </li><li>Excellent communicator and problem-solver, can pivot or adjust before, during or after shoots based on changing deadlines or situations. Conceptualize, produce, and edit multimedia content from ideation to final delivery with speed, quality, and efficiency. </li><li>Ensure timely delivery of content, sometimes on daily deadlines, while maintaining high production standards. </li><li>Collaborate closely with digital leadership and marketing, digital/social, and content strategy teams to craft multimedia assets aligned with project goals. </li><li>Maintain consistency with Syracuse University's brand guidelines while executing innovative creative concepts. </li><li>Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions. </li><li>Edits content for quick turn content production. </li><li>Conduct interviews, capture b-roll footage, and edit soundbites to develop engaging video content. </li><li>Utilize still photography and videography skills to enhance multimedia storytelling. </li><li>Apply sound design techniques and motion graphics to elevate post-production quality. </li><li>Partners with marketing, digital/social and content strategy teams to advance business objectives by use of multimedia. </li><li>Uses marketing best practices to capture multimedia content that is oriented to galvanize target audiences. </li><li>Archive and manage multimedia assets effectively for future use. </li><li>Ensure timely delivery of content, sometimes on daily deadlines, while maintaining high production standards. </li><li>Completes troubleshooting and preventive maintenance reports on video and audio production equipment; assists in repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties. </li><li>Maintains equipment inventory and field and studio production schedules. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. </li><li>Solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to creative problem-solving. </li><li>Strong collaboration skills within a matrixed organization structure. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Close visual acuity to perform tasks related the production of video content including visual framing, color grading, color temperature, focus and the use of color charts. </li><li>Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, including professional voiceover, audio equipment and appropriate audio levels. </li><li>Frequently moves Audio/Visual equipment across campus to various sites and for events; ability to move, lift, set up and break down photography and videography equipment. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. repeatedly at multiple assignments. </li><li>Flexibility and ability to position oneself to shoot a variety of images.
