Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, FirstEnergy includes one of the nation's largest investor-owned electric systems, more than 24,000 miles of transmission lines that connect the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, and a regulated generating fleet with a total capacity of more than 3,500 megawatts.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.</p> <p>This position is within the State Finance and Regulatory Affairs organization and reports to the Vice President, NJ State Finance and Regulatory Affairs.</p> <p>It is an onsite position and will need to be based out of one of our offices in New Jersey.</p> <p>The estimated pay range for this role is $182,000-$214,000.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, manage, and maintain positive business relationships with the Board of Public Utilities (BPU). </li><li>Service as a key liaison for FirstEnergy to the BPU. </li><li>Communicate with external stakeholders on a wide range of issues. </li><li>Monitor, analyze, and report on all regulatory matters at the BPU and make recommendations to management to support decision making. </li><li>Develop and execute regulatory strategies that advance the goals of the company. </li><li>Coordinate regulatory activities with applicable FirstEnergy business units such as External Affairs, Legal, Rates, Operations, and Finance to ensure proper alignment with business objectives. </li><li>Supervises staff that address escalated complaints to the BPU to ensure proper resolution. </li><li>Ability to understand the company's objectives, their financial implications and be able to communicate them to stakeholders. </li><li>Understand and stay current on all applicable laws, pending legislation, administrative rules and policies that impact FirstEnergy. </li><li>Act with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and credibility when representing the company. </li><li>Foresee regulatory, legislative, and policy opportunities to advance the company's business objectives. </li><li>Represent FirstEnergy at industry meetings, conferences, and events. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum 10 years' relevant experience required. Relevant work experience will include working with external audiences to communicate/advocate positions. </li><li>Electric utility industry and utility regulations experience required. </li><li>Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills. </li><li>Exceptional relationship management, leadership, and teamwork skills. </li><li>Business and political acumen. </li><li>Ability to think strategically and creatively. </li><li>Manage multiple priorities and focus on urgent tasks. </li><li>Ability to work after normal business hours, which could include evening or weekend travel to industry conferences. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). </li></ul> <p>Benefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity</p> <p>At FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
