Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our patients and our team members.</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Schedule outpatient diagnostic tests and referrals as ordered. </li><li>Knowledge of insurance carrier requirements. </li><li>Organize/Provide necessary information to obtain necessary authorizations or precertification from insurance carriers. </li><li>Notify patients of scheduled appointments and document their acknowledgment. </li><li>Counsel patients regarding special preparation for procedures and answer questions. </li><li>Contact insurance payers daily: Medicare, BlueCross BlueShield, and others. </li><li>Review claim denials and appeal when justified. </li><li>Verify the accuracy of coding. </li><li>Compile and prepare reports. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>One year of general clerical experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Word processing and computer experience.
