<p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <ul> <li>Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. </li><li>Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. </li><li>Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. </li><li>Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions </li><li>Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs. </li></ul> <p>Unit Description:</p> <p>2GPU is a post-surgical unit with a specialty focused on Orthopedic surgery patients. Most of our patients come from PACU after a number of different surgeries including bariatrics, urology, colorectal, orthopedics of course, and a variety of general surgery patients.
