<p>About the Job</p> <p>We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented qualitative researcher to support health services research projects focused on patient-provider communication and health equity. This position is ideal for someone with experience in conducting qualitative interviews and analyzing qualitative data. This position will work closely with NIH-funded studies from faculty in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. The studies work primarily with Black native-born and foreign-born populations. There are many opportunities for learning and/or performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and writing manuscripts with a highly productive team.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct qualitative interviews and focus groups </li><li>Perform qualitative data analysis, including coding interview transcripts and identifying themes using NVivo, Dedoose, or similar software </li><li>Support drafting of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for academic and policy audiences </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>All required qualifications must be included in the application materials</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>B.A. or B.S. in psychology, public health, sociology, anthropology, health sciences, or a related field </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting </li><li>Strong writing and research skills </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on assigned tasks </li><li>Interest in health disparities and healthcare communication research </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience conducting qualitative research and analysis </li><li>Familiarity with IRB processes and academic research environments </li><li>Proficiency with research tools such as NVivo, Dedoose, or REDCap </li><li>Experience in academic writing or preparing research deliverables </li></ul> <p>About the Department</p> <p>The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin Cities, two in Greater Minnesota. We are involved in medical student education activities across the Medical School's two campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth. We sponsor five fellowship programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, behavioral medicine, clinical informatics, and human sexuality- and offer continuing medical education opportunities.
