<p>Position Summary: The ISS Monitor position is responsible for ensuring that students that are placed in the In-School Suspension Program work on study habits, classroom behavior skills, and a positive self-image. This position is also responsible for coordinating student receipt and completion/progress of classroom assignments.</p> <p>Reports to: Principal, Associate Principals, Assistant Principals Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates, provides, and supervises instructional and behavioral activities for students assigned to ISS. </li><li>Take daily attendance and input necessary student information for accountability. </li><li>Review ISS policies, procedures, and student expectations with students daily. </li><li>Ensure students have escorts to restrooms. </li><li>Coordinates assignments with classroom teachers and administrators of referred students; provides tutorial assistance as needed and monitorsstudents' classwork while in ISS. </li><li>Assists students in examinig misbehavior and developing startegies to prevent reocuurrences. </li><li>Works with other school personnel to assist students in the development of techniques to control and express anger constructively, encourage positive student behavior, and promote safety in school. </li><li>Assigns and oversees additional assignments related to student infractions. </li><li>Contacts parents regarding student conduct and behavior modification plans. </li><li>Communicates proactively with teachers to inform them of student issues and conversations with parents. </li><li>Responds to emails and phone calls from school leaders and teachers in a timely manner. </li><li>Assists during standardized testing to support state and local testing processes and policies. </li><li>When in a school-based learning environment, monitors students' movement throughout the building to other classrooms, learning areas and cafeteria. </li><li>Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient, and safe transition of students from one location to another. </li><li>Engages in professional learning opportunities. </li><li>Required to have prompt, regular attendance. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative. </li></ul>
