Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$55,000.00 - $85,000.00</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Clinical Research Analyst within the Department of Neurology's Clinical Research Office (NCRO) will support the clinical research activities of Dr. Richard Nowak, with a focus on neuromuscular disorders, including myasthenia gravis. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with principal investigators, study coordinators, research managers, and regulatory teams to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of clinical research data. Key responsibilities include supporting protocol development, performing data analysis, and facilitating accurate and timely data collection. This role offers direct clinical exposure through interactions with ambulatory patients and coordination with the multidisciplinary medical team. The analyst will contribute to ongoing clinical trials and biorepository initiatives by assisting with data entry, collection, and query resolution. Additional duties include developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), training personnel in data collection and analysis methods, and preparing research findings for presentations and peer-reviewed publications. The analyst will also ensure adherence to institutional and federal research policies regarding patient privacy and data protection, while maintaining organized and secure data storage systems, including regular backups.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities:</p> <p>Work closely with investigators and other study team members to conduct analysis and achieve project goals.</p> <p>Use R, Python, SPSS, or SAS to analyze data.</p> <p>Organize both retrospective and prospective clinical data related to the project, including variables such as demographic data, hospital variables, and outcomes.</p> <p>Interact with patients to collect data.</p> <p>Support active clinical trials.</p> <p>Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection and analysis.</p> <p>Train others to collect and analyze project data.</p> <p>Present data at conferences and prepare data for publication.</p> <p>Ensure all research follows policies and procedures to follow all research regulations for patient privacy.</p> <p>Maintain data storage organization and backups.</p> <p>Facilitate communication amongst team members.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated understanding organizational and time management skills. Ability to independently prioritize tasks with competing deadlines and priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated skill in careful attention to detail, compliance requirements and accuracy in follow through. Ability to maintain regulatory documents and datasets.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to be flexible in schedule to attend meetings and work as a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with competing deadlines, and solve problems effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge of Python, SAS, R, and Redcap.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in relevant academic/scientific field and 2 years of related research support experience: or the equivalent combination of education or experience.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Works closely with investigators and other study team members including the project manager, for projects or programs of a small size or sections of medium projects and programs to consult, conduct analysis, and identify trial objectives and requirements within specific parameters. 2. Interprets research business needs and translates them into application and operational requirements for a specific area(s) of research. Develops necessary tools and workshops to successfully elicit requirements. 3. Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources - research protocols, clinical trial agreements, financial budgets and fees associated with research - to reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into data essentials. 4. Analyzes data with standard methods, interprets the results, and provides written summary and reporting of data analysis. Develops reporting modules, ad-hoc reports and related reporting tools. Conducts research, data analysis, modeling, projecting and scenario analyses, with the aid of planning technology and databases 5. Develops and maintain documentation and libraries on key processes. 6. Assesses risk and ensures compliance with research protocols/guidelines, university procedures, and third party regulations. 7. Determines training needs, designs, develops and conducts training sessions, meetings and conference calls with study teams and staff members. 8. Performs or assists with research compliance audits or self-assessments. 9. Communicates effectively the perspective of business opportunities, needs, and risks. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related work experience in the same job family or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
