<p>Summary</p> <p>Full time. 40 hours/week. 10 hour shifts. Monday-Thursday, 8:30-07:00pm</p> <p>Performs a variety of laboratory tests and assays in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations in a designated technical department. Be on their team. </li></ul> <p>Administrative:</p> <ul> <li>Answer telephones, maintain logs/records, organizational skills, proficiency with numbers, research information, time management, train employees, use computerized databases, written and verbal communications. </li></ul> <p>Machine:</p> <ul> <li>Personal computer. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>License/Certification/Education:</p> <ul> <li>An associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or equivalent and all required city/state/licenses or permits to qualify as a technician w/1-3 years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional job duty (as assigned):</p> <ul> <li>(Hazardous Chemical Waste Management) Proper identification of known hazardous material in the workplace. </li><li>The knowledge of personal protection measures. </li><li>The avoidance of accidents. </li><li>The knowledge of hazardous waste characteristics, hazardous waste volume generation limits, accumulation limits, spill control measures, record keeping, proper handling and container management, labeling, container and storage inspection. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Possible exposure to infection from disease-bearing specimens; regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases; must comply with applicable safety procedures. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one's feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping. Moderate physical effort (up to 30 pounds); must comply with applicable safety procedures. </li></ul>
