<p>POSITION: Lead School Librarian-PreK-12</p> <ul> <li>Grant funded </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: DESE Certification</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum and Instruction</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Building Principal and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction the lead Librarian shall: Be responsible for leadership, communication and coordination of all school library staff. Collaborate with the Building Principals with problem solving and decision making, keeping in perspective the program goals of the school libraries. Provide support in the progress, efficiency, and quality of services in the library program. Inform Building Principals of the needs and challenges of their school libraries. Facilitate monthly PLC meetings, departmental meetings and coordinate activities among librarians. Assist in orienting new librarians in the department, and assist in assigning mentors to new librarians. Work with the Building Principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to conduct research, compile data, and make specific recommendations for improvement. May assist in interviewing candidates for new librarian positions. Attend meetings outside of the regular work day as required. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal or the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be available after the school day Part-time employment</p> <p>SALARY Stipend- $2,000 per school year</p> <p>DATES OF EMPLOYMENT Start Date: Immediately End Date: June 30, 2025</p> <p>EVALUATION Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee's policy on evaluation.</p>
