<p>Overview</p> <p>We are seeking an EEG Technician (EEG Tech), sometimes referred to as an Electroencephalogram Technician, Neurodiagnostic Technician or EEG Tech in our Electrocardiology Department. The EEG Tech will diagnose neurological conditions by preparing patients, conducting EEG tests, and monitoring brain activity. They work closely with physicians to identify abnormalities, ensure patient safety, and support critical care through accurate testing and equipment maintenance.</p> <p>This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.</p> <p>Shift's Available:? Variable</p> <p>Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)</p> <p>Hours: Variable</p> <p>Location: St. Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MO</p> <ul> <li>Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: </li><li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Medical insurance benefit plan </li><li>401K </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Prepare patients for Electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures by explaining the process, taking medical history, and ensuring comfort </li><li>Apply electrodes using the 10-20 system and monitor equipment for accurate signal capture </li><li>Conduct EEG recordings including routine, sleep-deprived, ICU, and intraoperative monitoring </li><li>Identify and document abnormalities such as seizure activity or unusual brain wave patterns </li><li>Assist during long-term or emergency monitoring for neurological events or brain death evaluations </li><li>Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues </li><li>Collaborate with physicians to support diagnoses of epilepsy, brain injuries, tumors, and other medical conditions </li><li>Ensure patient safety by monitoring during procedures and responding to seizures or emergencies </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING</p> <ol> <li> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of educational program for EEG technicians preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.</p> </li><li> <p>2 yrs experience as an EEG technician preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Certification from the American Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologies (ABRET) preferred</p> </li></ol> <p>#LI-DK1</p> <p>Employment Status</p> <p>Per Diem</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>Days</p> <p>Employment Status</p> <p>Per Diem</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>Days</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity</p> <p>Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
