If you leave your computer and return later, you may time out.</p> <p>REMINDER: Current DCSD employees must apply through their district log-on, this application is for external candidates only!</p> <p>Job Posting Title:</p> <p>Behavior Specialist - District</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Behavior Specialists have the knowledge, skills and passion to consult and problem-solve with staff, students and families when students are faced with challenging behaviors. They will work as a team with the other Behavior Specialists, Coaches, Feeder Coordinators, teachers, school staff and the Coordinator of Health, Wellness, Prevention & Behavior Supports to ensure seamless support through the MTSS framework. They are skilled consultants who collaborate with school teams on crafting comprehensive functional behavior assessments and behavior plans across a multi-tiered system of support. This includes observing, analyzing data, identifying lagging skills, developing student goals based on replacement behaviors, and building on students' strengths. They will model communication of and implementation of behavior intervention plans. They develop and facilitate trainings to meet the needs of the district as a whole or more focused to meet the needs of individual schools, or school teams. They are knowledgeable about: special education law, managing behavior, and the process utilized when students need additional support.</p> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>-- You would utilize technology and integrate the use of technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities, instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on student's performance and development. </li><li>-- You are challenged with new teaching methods and educational tools in an ever changing and strategic environment. You would plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. </li><li>-- Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program as assigned. </li><li>-- As a teacher you would be expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. </li><li>-- Our teachers are integral parts of their school and the school community, performing certain duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations, participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings. </li><li>-- You would maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities. </li><li>-- Teachers are responsible for managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary. </li></ul> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - Colorado Department of Education, Special Education Generalist License - Colorado Department of Education, Special Service Provider License - Psychologist - Colorado Department of Education, Special Service Provider License - Social Worker - Colorado Department of Education</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Master's Degree (Required)</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>Variable Location Employee - SPED</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>40</p> <p>Full-Time Equivalent (FTE):</p> <p>1.00</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>185 Work Days</p> <p>Full Salary Range:</p> <p>$62,150.00 USD - $131,345.00 USD Annual</p> <p>Position Salary Schedule Eligibility:</p> <p>Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire</p> <p>Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire.
