<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under the direction of the Chief Research Tech Supervisor, the Hospital Assistant supports daily operations within a high-volume ambulatory MRI imaging facility that provides both clinical and research services.</p> <p>The incumbent assists with patient and research participant intake, vital signs and health screenings, MRI safety screening, rooming, and post-appointment processes to ensure efficient workflow and patient throughput. The role also supports preparation and turnover of exam rooms and MRI suites, equipment checks, inventory management, and maintenance of required clinical and research documentation.</p> <p>This position is essential to maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient imaging operations while supporting both patient care and research protocol activities.</p> <p>The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.</p> <p>Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>The salary range for this position is $32.86 - $41.01 (Hourly Rate).</p> <p>To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School graduation and three years as a Medical Assistant / Hospital Assistant in a medical practice, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; </li><li>Experience performing patient intake or supporting clinical workflows. </li><li>Knowledge of basic medical terminology. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting with strong attention to detail. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a high-volume imaging environment. </li><li>Basic computer proficiency, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. </li><li>Ability to adhere to patient confidentiality standards (HIPAA) and infection control protocols. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in an MRI or diagnostic imaging environment. </li><li>Experience supporting research studies in a healthcare or academic medical center setting. </li><li>Familiarity with MRI safety screening procedures and MRI zone safety concepts. </li><li>Experience coordinating scheduling in a clinical or imaging setting. </li><li>Experience working in a hybrid clinical and research environment. </li><li>Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or similar allied health training program. </li><li>Familiarity with IRB-governed research processes and research documentation standards. </li><li>Certified in Phlebotomy (California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I). Excellent Phlebotomy skills </li></ul>
