We are actively searching for a Busines Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators for the 2026-2027 school year. An ideal candidate is someone with an ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds and interests. The school features a collaborative learning model, block scheduling, hands-on and outdoor learning along with multiple connections to Goodwin University. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with students from urban and suburban settings and possess an understanding of and appreciation for multicultural education. The selected teacher will experience a new facility set on the Connecticut River and will become a member of a dynamic team of educators. Goodwin University Magnet Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>Responsible for providing instruction on areas such as labor relations, finance, accounting, the stock market, the economy, human resources, and business operations. A teacher is responsible for guiding learning of students in their classroom. The teacher is responsible to the Director and supervised by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction</p> <p>The Business Education Teacher shall:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver instruction on topics such as the principles of marketing, how to operate a business, and the financial aspects of business. </li><li>Improve students' knowledge of business practices. </li><li>Teach business topics such as basic economics, resume writing, facts about business careers, account checking, computers, the stock market, accounting, and finance. </li><li>Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world. </li><li>Read and stay abreast of current topics in business. </li><li>Develop business connections in an effort to provide authentic learning experiences for the students. </li><li>Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. </li><li>Teach each student through planning and individualizing instruction to meet student needs. </li><li>Plan a variety of appropriate individual and group activities in order to accommodate various learning styles. </li><li>Promote self-awareness, self-respect, appropriate behavior and responsibility. </li><li>Provide a stimulating environment in which students learn and interact. </li><li>Participate in and contribute to school programs, projects and professional activities. </li><li>Follow guidelines with regard to record keeping, documentation, and reporting. </li><li>Communicate pertinent information related to self, student, program and agency. </li><li>Foster self-worth and independence in students. </li><li>Supervise and monitor instructional assistants and other persons assigned to the classroom. </li><li>Support program and agency goals. </li><li>Perform other duties associated with the teaching position. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent Curriculum and Instruction and/or Superintendent. </li><li>Desirable Experience and Training </li><li>Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred, and certification in appropriate area of instruction. </li><li>Work experience in meeting the needs of racially, ethnically, socioeconomically and linguistically diverse groups of youth is desirable. </li><li>CSDE Certification Business Teacher: 010 </li></ul> <p>If you have any questions, please reach out to jacosta@goodwinmagnetsystem.org</p>
