<p>Position title</p> <p>Accountant</p> <p>Name of the position holder</p> <p>N.N.</p> <p>Business area</p> <p>North America Financial Service Center</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Windsor Locks, CT</p> <p>Legal company</p> <p>Ahlstrom Nonwovens LLC</p> <p>Manager (name, position title)</p> <p>Accounting Manager, North America Financial Service Center</p> <p>Number of direct subordinates</p> <p>n/a</p> <p>Geographical responsibility area</p> <p>USA</p> <p>Budget responsibility (net sales in EUR)</p> <p>n/a</p> <p>Purpose of the job</p> <p>To support daily, weekly and monthly activities in areas of AR, AP and General Ledger accounting.</p> <p>Main responsibility areas</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for smaller entities general ledger accounting & reporting. </li><li>Perform account reconciliations to assist closing of general ledger on a monthly basis related to smaller entities. </li><li>Accounts Payables invoice and credit note processing </li><li>Accounts Receivable cash posting for smaller entities in addition to providing coverage to larger entities as needed. </li><li>Prepare various US Census Bureau government surveys as required. </li><li>File monthly sales & use tax for relevant states </li><li>Assist with intercompany payables and receivables with multiple companies, including monthly invoicing & payments. </li><li>Assist with posting of payroll journal entries and other related payroll related accounting </li><li>Perform other related projects and duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Communication</p> <p>(position's responsibility for communications both within and outside the organization)</p> <p>Internally</p> <p>Communicates within the Service Center organization in the US and Group Controlling.</p> <p>Externally</p> <p>Interact with the Group assigned accounting firm for tax, book and internal audit as necessary.</p> <p>Experience and education</p> <p>(minimum level of knowledge and skills to fulfill one's responsibilities)</p> <p>Work experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. </li><li>Previous experience in accounting related functions preferred </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with management as required. </li><li>Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize workload. </li><li>Strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. </li><li>SAP and/or ERP system experience preferred. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to be able to work in a fast paced environment </li></ul> <p>Formal education</p> <p>Bachelor's degree</p> <p>Required competencies</p> <ul> <li>Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable a plus </li><li>Strong Analytical skills </li><li>Manufacturing experience a plus but not required </li></ul> <p>Ahlstrom is a global leader in combining fibers into sustainable specialty materials.
