<p>Reports to: Director of Special Education</p> <p>Length of Employment: 183 student days (Monday-Friday)</p> <p>Work Hours: 8:00 a.m-3:30 p.m. or 7:45-3:15</p> <p>Pay Structure: $23.50 hour/ $164.50 day</p> <p>Non Certified</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The S.E.L Mentor will provide behavioral instruction, intervention, and support for students struggling to meet classroom and school wide expectations. The S.E.L Mentor will triage students on their most challenging days and help them plan to return to their regular schedule for increased academic success. The S.E.L mentor will provide additional support to students in implementing behavior intervention plans and will take data to measure student progress as assigned by the District Behavior Consultant. The S.E.L mentor will attend NCI and Trauma-Informed Practices training if not already certified and will implement these practices as a member of a schools crisis intervention team. The S.E.L. mentor will assist in delivering behavior analysis services under the direction of a B.C.B.A. The S.E.L mentor will attend staffings and/or parent meetings for students on their caseload as requested by the supervisor.</p> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Registered Behavior Technician certification highly preferred </li><li>Associates Degree in related field preferred </li><li>At least 2 years of experience working with students with significant social and emotional difficulty and/or needs related to Autism preferred </li><li>Cooperates successfully as a member of a team </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality </li><li>Effective oral and written communication skills </li><li>Flexible, solution-centered, and positive </li></ul>
