<p>Overview</p> <p>THE ROLE</p> <p>At Great Dane, we rely on makers and we're calling on them to join our expanding team. The time has never been better to Embrace Your Great and work in an environment with the highest safety standards in the industry.</p> <p>The Position: The Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for the design, building, and implementation of 5S throughout the factory. This position will have the opportunity to provide vision and support for 5S implementation; facilitate improvement efforts (5S, CIW'S, etc.) and utilize ORLOE Problem Solving methods to identify project areas.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate and participate in process improvements using Great Dane techniques such as 5S, CIW (Continuous Improvement Workshops), and other lean tools. </li><li>Partner with operations team to collect observations, ideas, and solutions for improvement projects. </li><li>Mentor the team and motivate them towards a higher level of involvement and understanding. </li><li>Prepare/install visual postings for 5S and improvements (signs, markings, etc.). </li><li>Ensure follow-up communication to improve projects through working with department managers. </li><li>Assist in the development of Standard Work for improved plant manufacturing processes. </li><li>Provide accurate and timely reporting to site management on pending and completed projects. </li><li>Audit completed process improvements to ensure compliance and sustainment. </li><li>Assist with special projects and participate on other teams as requested. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)</p> <ul> <li>Education: Associate's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business preferred. </li><li>Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and training. Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in a cross functional team coordinator role. </li><li>Skills: Formal courses or designation in Lean and/or Six Sigma (Green Belt) preferred. </li><li>Prior project management experience preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of lean concepts, including 5S, VSM, Kanban, kaizen, standard work, etc. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). </li><li>Fluency in English. </li><li>Capability to promote team-working and collaboration among different functions. </li><li>Proactive and dynamic approach in challenging existing processes and searching for new opportunities. </li><li>Good communication skills; with shop floor operators or senior management alike with keen interest in continuous improvement techniques and efforts. </li><li>Travel: None. </li></ul>
