<p>Job Title: Protection and Control Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This position is for an Instrumentation and Control Engineer within the Protection & Controls Applications group. The engineer will provide short-circuit analysis and breaker-duty study results, specify protection schemes and relays, and communicate study results to interconnection customers and internal partners.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide short-circuit analysis, breaker-duty study results, and protection requirements to interconnect a customer-owned facility to the transmission system. </li><li>Create and update short-circuit models using customer-provided facility data with Computer-Aided Protection Engineering (CAPE) software. </li><li>Specify protection schemes and relays at company-owned facilities and the point of interconnection, reviewing schemes based on transmission stability requirements. </li><li>Effectively communicate study results and protection requirements to interconnection customers and internal partners. </li><li>Actively engage in meetings with other organizations to provide technical expertise to customers and peer partners. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Instrumentation </li><li>PLC programming </li><li>Protective relay </li><li>Instrumentation controls </li><li>Instrumentation engineering </li><li>Modeling </li><li>Short Circuit analysis </li><li>Arc flash </li><li>CAPE or ASPEN Transmission System Modeling Experience </li><li>Automation </li><li>Design </li><li>Electrical engineering </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BS in Electrical Engineering or related field. </li><li>Experience or coursework in protection and controls. </li><li>Understanding or involvement with relay settings, studies, or interconnection reads. </li><li>Coursework in Power Studies or related subjects to Utilities/Transmission is considered a plus. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role offers a great opportunity for individuals entering the field of utilities to create value through contract engineering with one of the premier providers of Power Transmission and Distribution in the Southern Region.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
