<p>Close Date 3/6/2026 Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Description</p> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Please complete the online application found at www.jeffcomo.org Resumes are accepted as supplemental information only and will not be used as a substitute for the application, you must complete the application in full.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The position involves providing direct oversight and management of the Parks Maintenance Division.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Initiates job task and guides crew with maintenance and construction on park properties. </li><li>Designs and coordinates jobs with contractors and crew. </li><li>Oversees and participates in maintenance repair and operation of equipment. </li><li>Assists the director in hiring, training, evaluating and corrective action planning for Maintenance Staff. </li><li>Assists the Director in strategic planning of all park improvements and new developments. </li><li>Ensures the safety of all park equipment used by our patrons. </li><li>Assists the Director in development of policies and procedures specific to the Parks Maintenance Division. </li><li>Directs and ensures the staff is performing work at a satisfactory level. </li><li>Inspects parks and playgrounds for safety issues, vandalism and routine maintenance. </li><li>Meets with Director, Parks Board and Parks Foundation about past, present and future park operations. </li><li>Maintains records on crew and projects including other government agencies and outside contractors. </li><li>Manages supplies for daily operation of department. </li><li>Performs work at assigned location during specified business hours. </li><li>Performs related additional duties as required and assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position Maintenance Division Manager - Parks Position Requirements</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent; </li><li>Four (4) years of building, electrical or mechanical experience, including two (2) years supervisory experience; </li><li>Or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li></ul> <p>Licenses or Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid State Driver's License. </li><li>Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) or must obtain within six months of hire </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Many situations may require early morning or late evening hours. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Skills in communicating clearly, in both oral and written form. </li><li>Skills in interviewing to screen individuals to fill vacant positions. </li><li>Ability to analyze and determine practices or actions that will address problems. </li><li>Ability to evaluate problematic situations and determine an effective course of action. </li><li>Ability to project a positive image of the County. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The work is heavy and requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The work also requires mental and visual acuity, speaking, balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling; picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand; grasping; picking, holding or otherwise working with the whole hand; hearing, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Some work is performed indoors in an office environment and in confined areas (i.e. vehicles). Work will also be performed outdoors in various weather conditions below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, mud, rain, snow or sleet; and direct exposure to sunlight, high pollen count and windy conditions.
