Pitt Community College is seeking a Campus Police Officer to join our Police Department. Help us create a secure and supportive campus environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As a Campus Police Officer, you'll serve on the front lines of campus safety, responsible for, but not limited:</p> <ul> <li>Enforcing all campus, county, and state laws and regulations </li><li>Investigating incidents and detaining suspects when necessary </li><li>Responding to emergency situations, assisting the injured, and rendering first aid </li><li>Managing traffic flow and issuing citations </li><li>Providing law enforcement and crowd control during major events </li><li>Offering assistance with car lockouts, jump-starts, escorts, and building access </li><li>Preparing detailed incident and activity reports </li><li>Supporting students and staff with sensitive situations such as domestic violence </li><li>Work with external law enforcement agencies and represent PCC in legal proceedings as needed. </li></ul> <p>Why Join PCC?</p> <ul> <li>A strong sense of community and purpose </li><li>A chance to make a real impact in a learning environment </li><li>Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development </li><li>Diverse responsibilities - no two days are the same! </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field </li><li>4-6 years of law enforcement experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience </li><li>Certified and qualified under NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission </li><li>Valid North Carolina driver's license </li><li>Proven ability to work in high-risk, high-stress environments </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Firearm proficiency and a commitment to safety and professionalism </li><li>This role may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to on-campus incidents under emergency conditions. </li></ul> <p>Be a Leader in Campus Safety!</p> <p>If you're ready to serve with integrity, compassion, and courage, apply today and take the next step in your law enforcement career with Pitt Community College.</p>
