Posting Number 20166655S Job Description</p> <p>As an integral part of the leadership of the Division of Student Affairs, the Director of Student Organizations and Campus Programming is responsible for overseeing student organizations and campus programming. The director is also responsible for developing a culture of respect throughout the Center for Student Engagement & Leadership (CSEL)and assessing the Center's impact on student success.</p> <p>Primary focus areas for the Director of Student Organizations and Campus Programming are:</p> <ul> <li>Leading the success of and budgets for: Student Organizations, Student Organization Finance, and Student Programming </li><li>Organizing the Division of Student Affairs' role in campus-wide programming </li><li>Coordinating large university events to support student engagement including Homecoming and Welcome Week </li><li>Supervising staff, GA's, and student employees </li><li>Student Organization Leadership Coaching and Student Senate Advising; </li><li>Working directly with a variety of campus partners to develop policies and protocols addressing risk management, travel, etc. for all registered student organizations. </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities Include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide leadership and oversight to Ohio University's 550+ registered student organizations</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee student organization budgets</p> </li><li> <p>Establish campus relationships with facilities management, events services, finance, OUPD and other departments that work regularly with student organizations</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze, develop, and implement university-wide policies and protocols addressing risk management, travel, etc. for all registered student organizations and assist in resolving legal matters as student organizations encounter them</p> </li><li> <p>Advise Student Senate; supervises the graduate assistant who advises student senate; attend all general body meetings; meet bi-weekly with the executive leadership team; provide guidance on university policies, procedures, and governance structures to ensure student government activities align with institutional guidelines; plan summer retreat</p> </li><li> <p>Provide oversight to student allocations of $400K for student programming</p> </li><li> <p>Create assessment plans for student organizations and campus programming with a focus on how involvement in organizations and campus programming/activities impacts students' personal, social, civic, and professional growth</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the organization of the Division of Student Affairs' role in campus-wide programming.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure ongoing engagement activities are occurring throughout the year and are responsive to students' emergent needs and interests</p> </li><li> <p>Support and enhance student organizations in designing and creating programming</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with colleagues across the campus on major events and marquee programs</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a partnership with the College of Fine Arts and the PAS and Concert Series</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, implement, and assess programs and activities that facilitate student engagement and connectivity to the university</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the coordination of large university events for student engagement including Homecoming, Family Weekends, and Welcome Week</p> </li><li> <p>Provide Leadership Coaching to student organization leaders on leadership development</p> </li><li> <p>Engage students in leadership development aligned with CSEL's vision and strategy for leadership development</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize technology and resources to guide students through the leadership development process</p> </li><li> <p>Provide individual and group coaching to students regarding leadership development</p> </li><li> <p>Assess services/programs to determine student needs/learning outcomes and facilitate continuous improvement</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise staff and GA's and the CSEL Student Ambassador Team</p> </li><li> <p>Co-lead and maintain a team of undergraduate student leaders who facilitate programs and events</p> </li><li> <p>Hire, train, and supervise staff, GA's and student employees</p> </li><li> <p>Provide effective feedback and ongoing training</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in CSP, Higher Ed or other related field </li><li>Minimum of 6 years of related experience </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience </li><li>Significant (15+) years of of progressive leadership in higher education student programming MAY be considered in lieu of a Master's degree </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Department VP For Student Affairs Pay Rate</p> <p>The target salary range is $51,281 to $67,947 commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.</p> <p>Ohio University is proud to offer a robust healthcare plan that includes maternity care, transgender care, counseling and mental healthcare, prescription coverage, vision, dental, orthodontia care, and more.
