Experience working with parent groups and with young children. Knowledge of early childhood development or equivalent experience; Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and group facilitation skills. Awareness of parent and child development issues. Ability to organize responsibilities and function independently. Valid Connecticut Driver's license required at time of appointment.</p> <p>JOB GOAL</p> <p>To provide support and development information to parents of infants and toddlers through home visits, play-socials, and parent groups, as well as through development screening.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator/Director</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Established by the Board of Education</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Plans and provides home visits within 3 to 6 weeks to families enrolled in the Families in Training program. </li><li>Plans and facilitates parent group meetings, play socials, and drop-in times for client's families. </li><li>Develops program publicity and referrals for children of client families. </li><li>Provides developmental screening and referrals for children of client families. </li><li>Submits weekly service sheets regarding participation records. </li><li>Works collaboratively, under the lead of the Site Coordinator to plan, monitor, and assess the implementation of the Early Stimulation Center Grant proposal and its components. </li><li>Teaches parents to utilize support services to strengthen parent-child communication, school readiness skills, and problem solving skills/techniques through role modeling and demonstration. </li><li>Provides support, information, and general child development information to participating families. </li><li>Documents and maintains client files of services provided, assessments, and progress toward family goals as identified. </li><li>Submits monthly statistics regarding participation records. </li><li>Monitors program enrollment and records of activities. </li><li>Participates in program evaluations. </li><li>Attends staff meetings. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
