This role provides a great environment to prioritize patients, work with providers while also providing team oversight and development.</p> <ul> <li>Days, M-F, weekend rotation every 9th week </li><li>BILD Leadership Development program eligible </li></ul> <p>Overview</p> <p>Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.</p> <p>Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. This recognition has been accomplished by less than nine percent of hospitals nationwide. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. Louis metro area.</p> <p>The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including a Class 10,000 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer/Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The hospital uses Pyxis Connect digital order imaging, medication bar coding, an electronic medication administration record, and Alaris Guardrails ''smart'' IV pumps. The department utilizes Pyxis medstations for distribution of 90% of medication. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Role Purpose</p> <p>Assists the pharmacy manager with overseeing clinical, educational, drug use policy and research activities of the department. Provides oversight to the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.Assess the overall status of the patient's health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitors therapy and goals of care.
