<p>Are you looking for a rewarding clinical career that makes a direct, meaningful impact on patient care?</p> <p>UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a full-time Mammographer to join the Womens Imaging Department in Monroeville!</p> <p>We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus to eligible hires for a 2-year work commitment!</p> <p>The Mammographer will primarily work daylight shifts, Monday through Friday, with an occasional evening shift (11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and an occasional, rotating Saturday shift (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.). This role will alternate between working 5 days per week and 4 days per week for an average of 72 hours every two weeks. Full-time benefits are included with this status! No on-call or holidays required!</p> <p>Additionally, there may be travel to other local Magee-Womens Imaging offices up to 50% of the time. The Mammographer will be able to choose their two additional rotational locations!</p> <p>The Mammographer performs imaging procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision. In this role, you will competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.</p> <p>Picture your impact as part of our Imaging service line with UPMC Magee, and apply today!</p> <p>Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on individual experience and education, per manager discretion.</p> <p>Free Parking!</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs correlative breast examinations and documents scars, moles, and pertinent findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides individualized breast self-examination instruction and discusses the importance for the need to have an annual clinical breast examination performed by a qualified healthcare provider.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews patient history, assesses physician orders, and documents patient history in electronic record, as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner, including proper application of breast compression, positioning, and a variety of special mammography views to maximize the diagnostic quality of the examination.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares patient for mammography procedure and tends to the physical safety and comfort of the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, and explains procedures to help allay the patients' fears and solicit their cooperation.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures all exams are properly coded and tracked, all exams are properly networked, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the following Invasive Breast Imaging Procedures: ultrasound and stereo tactic guided needle biopsy, clip placement, ductogram, wire localization, radioactive see localization, and sentinel node injection procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs equipment quality control procedures utilizing radioactive sources and evaluates results to ensure equipment performance is within acceptable standards.</p> </li><li> <p>If required by this department, must demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates proper use of power injectors.</p> </li><li> <p>May be required to administer PO and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assess patients for potential risk factors prior to the contrast administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of approved Mammography Training Course that fulfills the requirements set forth by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) in preparation for Mammography certification board examination within 30 days of hire.</p> </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <ul> <li> <p>ARRT Certificate</p> </li><li> <p>Must obtain Mammography registration within 12 months of hire date.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)</p> </li><li> <p>CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Act 34</p> </li></ul> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
