<p>NOTE: This position can be filled as 11 or 12 months depending on candidate qualifications and department needs at the time of hire.</p> <p>The Event Coordinator for the Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts is responsible for coordinating performance and non-performance events and any related activities in the ancillary spaces of the Val A. Browning Center. This position works closely with the Director and Production Stage Manager (PSM) to facilitate all events, from the first contact through final invoicing.</p> <p>The Event Coordinator serves as a contact for clients; coordinates event-related needs and logistics with other Browning Center staff; communicates and completes necessary documentation for event execution; ensures conformance with security and safety regulations; generates contracts and helps to keep clients in line with said requirements; works with PSM to provide clients with itemized cost estimates for facility-related services before their event; produces final invoicing information upon event conclusion; hires and schedules front desk, and front of house personnel; maintains concessions inventory, training for all FOH positions, & POS devices; delivers exceptional customer service to Browning Center's users, both internal and external; works selected events, evenings, and weekends as required.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. </li><li>Related experience </li><li>A valid driver's license is a condition of employment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>The preferred candidate will have experience with social media, simple web maintenance, and will show strong leadership qualities.</p> <p>A successful candidate will be willing to Background Check? Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection). The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).</p>
