<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a fully onsite role. The contract is 3-6 months (extendable). The candidate will start asap.</p> <p>Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Targeting the ranges indicated below, with hard ceilings: Market is soft; Roles are scoped and short-term, so speed matters </li><li>Integrate COTS end effectors and other hardware peripherals into Palladyne IQ </li><li>Implement device drivers/adapters and a clean hardware abstraction for grippers/vacuum, tool changers, and I/O </li><li>Bring-up and debug hardware/firmware interfaces; Define wiring maps and communication timing </li><li>Add configuration, status, and error reporting hooks for IQ UI/telemetry </li><li>Write automated bench tests and HIL tests; Document bring-up and field install steps </li><li>Support shop-floor trials and acceptance testing with customers* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems </li><li>Senior Software Engineer (End-Effector Integration) </li><li>Experience with C++ and Python </li><li>Strong C++ for hardware/firmware interfacing and protocol parsing </li><li>Hands-on with industrial comms: EtherNet/IP, Modbus (TCP/RTU), IO-Link, serial interfaces; Experience integrating COTS devices (IODD usage, vendor SDKs, serial/Ethernet bridges) </li><li>Solid debugging (oscilloscope/logic analyzer/Wireshark) and real-time/threading fundamentals </li><li>Visa sponsorship is not available for this position </li></ul> <p>Nice-to-have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with tool changers, vacuum generators, and safety I/O </li><li>Python for test tooling; CI for hardware-in-the-loop </li><li>Familiarity with UR, FANUC, ABB ecosystems </li></ul>
