The School Nurse will be responsible for managing student health needs, administering first aid, and coordinating care plans to promote a safe and healthy learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to student care. Prior experience in pediatrics, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly desirable, along with familiarity with medical documentation standards.</p> <p>Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assess student health conditions through vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews </li><li>Administer medications following established protocols </li><li>Provide emergency care for injuries or sudden illnesses </li><li>Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations </li><li>Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with chronic or acute health issues </li><li>Coordinate with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers to ensure appropriate treatment and follow-up </li><li>Conduct health screenings and immunizations as required by school policies </li><li>Educate students and staff on health topics such as hygiene, disease prevention, and emergency procedures </li><li>Manage medical supplies and ensure the proper functioning of medical equipment within the school clinic </li><li>Stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing, emergency response, and school health regulations </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Extensive experience in pediatrics, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or Level I/II Trauma Centers is preferred </li><li>Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric and adolescent care </li><li>Proficiency in accurate medical documentation and recordkeeping </li><li>Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and injections </li><li>Ability to perform patient care efficiently in high-pressure situations such as urgent care or ER scenarios </li><li>Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and healthcare teams </li><li>Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of student health information </li><li>Capable of working independently while maintaining a collaborative approach within the school environment </li></ul> <p>This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student well-being by providing expert healthcare services in a dynamic educational setting.</p> <p>School Nurse/Non-Instructional Standard Certification preferred</p> <p>Degree Requirement: Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college</p> <p>Licensure Requirement: A current NJ registered professional nurse licensure issued by the NJ State Board of Nursing</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Dental insurance </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Paid sick time </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li><li>Vision insurance </li></ul> <p>Work Location: In person</p>
