<p>Working Foreman Highway Division</p> <p>Department of Public Works</p> <p>Schedule: 3:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. shift</p> <p>Pay: $32.77/hourly plus $15/shift differential</p> <p>The Town of Brookline is seeking a Working Foreman to join the Department of Public Works' Highway Division. This position performs and supervises the repair, maintenance, and construction of highways, sidewalks, and related roadway structures and facilities. The Working Foreman oversees assigned work crews, ensuring that proper equipment, tools, and materials are available, and that safe and efficient work practices are followed in compliance with applicable standards. This position is scheduled to work from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising, assigning, and monitoring daily work activities of an assigned crew. </li><li>Inspecting work performed and ensuring vehicles and equipment are operating properly. </li><li>Performing and overseeing snow and ice removal operations. </li><li>Constructing, maintaining, and repairing bituminous and concrete roadways, sidewalks, curbing, and related structures. </li><li>Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings; estimating labor, materials, and equipment needs. </li><li>Coordinating work with other departments and maintaining public communication regarding projects. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Four to five years of comprehensive highway and sidewalk construction and maintenance experience, including snow and ice removal. </li><li>Experience supervising work crews and operating heavy motor equipment. </li><li>Valid Massachusetts Commercial Drivers License, Class B and Massachusetts Hoisting Engineers License required. </li><li>Strong ability to plan, assign, and review work; troubleshoot field problems; and ensure safe, high-quality results. </li></ul> <p>Apply today:</p> <p>Applications received by December 3, 2025 will receive priority consideration.</p>
