No weekends or holidays required. On-call is required every 8th week. (after training period is complete, employee will transition to 4-10 hour shifts!)</p> <p>Sanford Equip is looking for a Respiratory Care Specialist. The focus is to provide patients with medical equipment and support in the home environment specializing in respiratory services such as home oxygen, ventilators, PAP devices, and enteral feeding pumps. Those interested in this position should expect close teamwork with other Respiratory Care Specialists within the department to promote excellent patient care and a positive atmosphere.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Required to deliver assessment, therapeutic intervention and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications. Assess individuals to prevent, detect, monitor and manage disease and complications.</p> <p>Provide therapeutic interventions to directly impact cardiopulmonary health, as well as overall health status according to established goals and interdisciplinary care plans.</p> <p>Provide education to promote preventative care, self-management, enhanced cardiopulmonary health and quality of life.</p> <p>Perform regular assessments of patients and the equipment they use.</p> <p>Offer treatment suggestions based on the analysis of the patient. Work with patients in their home, hospital and clinic environments depending on patient needs.</p> <p>Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses or other healthcare professionals to manage patient care by assisting with patient home respiratory therapy.</p> <p>May be required to work on call shifts on a rotating basis.</p> <p>Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in the department.</p> <p>Demonstrate the knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care.</p> <p>Required to complete orientations, competency validations and other in-service as required by the department and medical center.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Associate degree in respiratory care from an accredited respiratory care program or in nursing required.</p> <p>Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate</p> <p>Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing</p> <p>Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).</p> <p>Currently holds a Respiratory Therapy (RT) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state(s) where the practice is occurring</p> <p>and/or possess multistate licensure when applicable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Obtains and</p> <p>subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.</p> <p>If a licensed RT, must possess Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials</p> <p>as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC</p> <p>credentialing requirements.</p> <p>Licensed RNs must possess licensure through the applicable state Board of Nursing (BON).</p> <p>Active Driver's License is required.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Sanford Health offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
