Training and development of self-directed teams promotes a work environment that encourages employee initiative, engagement and development.</p> <p>The carefully preserved architecture, immaculate grounds, and a hillside setting rank Colgate's campus among the most beautiful in the nation.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <p>Under direct supervision of the Director of Facilities Operations the Summer HVAC Tech Intern will:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the effort on HVAC maintenance and repair. </li><li>Assist in establishing HVAC project budgets and parts ordering. </li><li>Work with HVAC tools to properly diagnose and repair HVAC equipment. </li><li>Assist with the Building Automation operations, to include diagnosing and repairing the </li></ul> <p>BAS system.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for following all procedures to conduct work activities in a safe manner including but not limited to wearing PPE required for specific duties and safe handling of chemicals as outlined by University policies and/or the supervisor. </li><li>Responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor and/or Environmental Health and Safety. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Professional Experience/ Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis. </li><li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with a wide range of individuals. </li><li>Availability to work overtime as needed. </li></ul> <p>Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>A valid driver's license in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy. </li><li>EPA Section 608 - Universal Technician Certification. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Education</p> <p>This opportunity has been created for current college students enrolled in an HVAC program.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Required to stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Required to lift and carry up 50 pounds, while from time-to-time may be required to </li></ul> <p>assist with lifting objects up to 100 pounds.</p> <ul> <li>Required to work in all types of weather conditions. </li><li>Responsible for following all procedures to conduct work activities in a safe manner </li></ul> <p>including but not limited to wearing PPE required for specific duties and safe handling of</p> <p>chemicals as outlined by University policies and/or the supervisor.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor and/or Environmental Health and Safety. </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p>
